The 2nd Kagawa Rainbow Film Festival - Call for Entry!

We are now waiting for your entry!

The Kagawa Rainbow Film Festival is the only film festival, in the Shikoku/ Chugoku area of Japan, whose theme is the diversity of sexuality and lifestyles. Our wish is that the prospective audience of our films presented at the film festival will come to perceive this diversity as an extension of humanity. In the 1st festival, our selections of independent films were received favorably by an audience of 310.

Amateur films as well as professional that feature human sexuality as their main themes are now being solicited from Japan and abroad for the 2nd festival to be held in November, 2006. The 2nd Kagawa Rainbow Film Festival is now waiting for your entry!

Eligibility and Restrictions

• As long as your work deals with sexual minorities in society, any genre of films will be accepted including drama, comedy, documentary, sci-fi, computer graphics, music video, art, animated films and others.
• Previously released and unreleased works are both accepted.
• As a general rule, the length of your work is not limited.
  However, if your work greatly exceeds 60 minutes, please contact us so that we may consult with you regarding this matter.
• There are no limitations regarding age, gender, sexuality, professional or amateur status, and/or individual or groups/ organization.
• The number of submissions is not limited for an individual, group or organization.

Submission Rules

• Entries are limited to completed works only.
• Please make sure to send in a copy of your work on film or tape for the preview process in one of the following formats: VHS, DVD or miniDV.
• Entry fees are not required.
• Please acknowledge that it is impossible for us to show all of the submitted works at the festival due to the limited space and time. After the entry deadline, our selection staff will select the films to be shown. Submitted copies will be used only for the preview purpose by our selection staff.

Submission Procedures

1. First, please apply by email. Please put [Submission] in the subject line.

2. Upon receiving your application via email, we will inform you of the further details about the submission procedures such as the mailing address and etc.
3. After you receive the details about the procedures from us, please send in required information about your work in a written format with a dubbed tape or DVD of your work.

Please acknowledge that there may be some time required for processing before receiving a reply from us.

Submission Deadlines

• June 20, 2006 (the first deadline)
• July 20, 2006 (the second deadline)
